From 4 to 7 February 2025, a professional master class for young, international opera singers will be held for the very first time in the Arabian hemisphere. Thomas Hampson selected three highly talented artists: Giulio Putrino (Italy), Livia Louis-Joseph Dogué (France) and Razaviasfali Seyedahforooz (Iran). He has known them for a few years and has great faith in their future careers. All soloists have made their mark on several opera as well as concert stages.
The Royal Opera House Muscat and its Artistic Director Umberto Fanni have chosen four further singers, including promising talents from Arab countries. This type of artistic promotion is a key objective of the Omani Ministry of Culture and is being bestowed upon young singers in Arabian countries at this level for the very first time. After the master classes, Thomas Hampson will round off his visit in Oman by a solo concert including favorite arias and and a joint performance with the local choir and orchestra on 9 February at 7 pm.
The singer, celebrated worldwide for his versatility and beauty of sound, has mastered over 80 opera roles and is considered one of the most profound interpreters and ambassadors of art song. He makes guest appearances at all top opera and concert halls worldwide and has recorded over 170 albums, many of which have won prestigious awards such as the GRAMMY Award. In addition to his singing, he regularly shares his skills and knowledge in master classes and also appears as a visiting professor at international music universities. This first collaboration is intended to mark the beginning of a longer-term cooperation between Thomas Hampson and the Royal Opera House Muscat. Rieder Promotions would like to cordially thank both Thomas Hampson and the artistic director Umberto Fanni for making this wonderful and future-oriented project happen!
