After last year´s tours, Rieder Promotions had the chance of bringing distinguished guest companies and orchestras to Aspendos again in 2005. Maestro Justus Frantz with Beethoven´s 9th Symphony played by the Philharmonia of the Nations and the Chorus of the Turkish State Opera were the ones to start; the Mariinsky Opera under Maestro Gergiev was the second company to perform in Aspendos´ ancient Roman theatre with excellent acoustics: a concert version of Eugene Onegin as well as a concert with selected opera arias and Tchaikovsky´s Pathétique beneath a starlit sky will remain memorable experiences for everyone who was part of them.
28 and 30 July: Mariinsky Theatre at the Salzburg festival with Mazeppa
Under the direction of Maestro Gergiev the Mariinsky Theatre gave two performances at the distinguished Salzburg Festival. A fine cast (Larissa Diadkova, Olga Savova, Valery Alexeev and many others) showcased a model rendition of Tchaikovsky´s little known opera Mazeppa and was met by an thundering applause.
2004
1 January: Vienna Philharmonic New Year´s Concert 2004
After soloists of the Mariinsky Ballet had brilliantly performed a ballet intermezzo last year, Boris Eifman created a merry choreography for soloists of the Vienna State Opera Ballet and ABT- star José Manuel Carreño for the New Year´s Concert 2004. In the atmospheric environment of the Palais Liechtensteins the Cuban dance genius enthralled the audience with cyberspeed turns and awesome grand-jetés.
June/July: Tour to Aspendos with the Bavarian State Ballet and Mariinsky Ballet
Indisputable highlight of 2004 was the tour Rieder Promotions implemented for the open air opera and ballet festival of Aspendos (Antalya). It had the privilege of presenting two companies in one go: the Bavarian State Ballet displayed neoclassical and modern ballet works by Balanchine, Kylian and Forsythe, followed by the Mariinsky Ballet only shortly after with an epoch-making performance of Swan Lake. The perfect harmony between ancient Roman architecture and pictures in motion on stage was indeed hard to describe and left everybody who experienced it with unforgettable memories.

Furthermore, Maestro Gergiev conducted a Christmas concert with the Zagreb Philharmonic and Ulyana Lopatkina made appearances as a guest soloist at the Ankara Opera and the Teatro alla Scala di Milano.
