January: Guest performance of the Mariinsky Ballet in Bregenz und Salzburg

4 - 8 July: Guest performance of the Mariinsky Ballet at the Deutsche Oper Berlin

 

11 - 12 July: Guest performance of the Mariinsky Ballet at the State Opera Hamburg

 

 

August: Mariinsky Ballet dances Swan Lake in Schönbrunn

For three days, the beautiful Schloß Schönbrunn was the romantic backdrop for the world´s most famous ballet classic Swan Lake and the Mariinsky Ballet. Artists, audience and critics enjoyed this project as a truly unique experience.

March: Guest performance of the Mariinsky Ballet at the Bavarian State Opera

 

November: Mariinsky tour under Mo. Gergiev

Mariinsky concert and opera tour under Mo. Gergiev in Austria (Oper Graz, Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Wiener Konzerthaus). Semyon Kotko at the Wiener Konzerthaus on 21 November, live recorded by Decca, marked the highlight of this tour.

 

 

1998

July: Mariinsky Ballet weeks at Opera Graz

A scintillating three-week guest performance of the Mariinsky Ballet at the Opera Graz displaying all in all 18 shows was one of this year´s highlights: Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake and La Bayadère as well as a varied programme of Fokine ballets and a gala performance to the benefit of "Licht ins Dunkel", a charitable initiative of the ORF. Outstanding protagonists of this big project were Tatiana Amossova, Altynai Asylmuratova, Ulyana Lopatkina, Julia Makhalina, Irma Nioradse, Svetlana Zakharova, Diana Vishneva, Viktor Baranov, Andrian Fadeyev, Igor Kolb, Farukh Ruzimatov and Igor Zelensky.

April: Mariinsky Ballet in Salzburg and St. Pölten

Guest performance of the Mariinsky Ballet at the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg and in the newly inaugurated Festspielhaus St. Pölten.
