Who we are

The artist and event agency Gerhard Rieder Promotions Ges.m.b.H. was founded in Vienna in 1996 with the objective of structuring and implementing ballet, opera and orchestra tours at home and abroad. The Mariinsky Ballet was a close partner from the very start with both the opera company and the Mariinsky Orchestra led by Maestro Valery Gergiev joining in soon thereafter. The main focus of Rieder Promotions was and still is tour management including project acquisition, budgeting, logistics and on-the-spot-implementation. Over time, artists management emerged as further field of activity. Today, Rieder Promotions operates in many countries in Europe, Asia and America (Canada and the US) and enjoys excellent contacts to some of the world´s best opera, concert and event venues as well as top music and ballet festivals.
Furthermore, the agency enjoys a long-lasting co-operation with the Austrian Broadcasting Company ORF including the New Year´s Concerts of the Vienna Philharmonic in 2003 and 2004 or the DVD productions of Jewels and Don Quixote with the Mariinsky Ballet in 2006.

Rieder Promotions is proud to have established new co-operations with internationally renowned institutions in the past years. The Bayreuth Festival exclusively commissioned the agency with tour sourcing and management of future guest performances abroad to take place at exclusive destinations with famous artists once a year.

Furthermore, Rieder Promotions has been commissioned to acquire and structure guest tours for the Deutsche Oper Berlin; the Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona entrusted the agency with project evaluation and realisation for tours abroad as well as for guest performances of foreign companies in Barcelona.

It is a special honour to have been offered the chance of intensifying the co-operation with the Vienna Philharmonic for concerts in Europe and in the Arab countries a few years ago; the same applies for the Chamber Orchestra Vienna-Berlin, an ensemble solely consisting of musicians from the Vienna and Berlin Philharmonic.

Tour management services for world-class partners are further provided for the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and the Rotterdam Philharmonic. The Wiener Sängerknaben are the most recent new agency member for whom Rieder Promotions is happy to secure commissions in the Arab Gulf Region.

Among the most famous ballet companies which have joined the agency we list the Mariinsky Ballet, Bolshoi Ballet, Bavarian State Ballet, Hamburg Ballet, The Forsythe Company, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo and recently the Corpo di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala.

Rieder Promotions provides individual artistic coaching and management for conductors, ballet soloists, singers, instrumentalists, stage directors and choreographers. Co-operation with highly acclaimed and sought-after artists include Katharina Wagner, Boris Eifman, Maestro Valery Gergiev oder Maestro Daniel Barenboim.
